| Who We Are: Our family has been
literally homesteading a wilderness dream. We moved
into a simple log cabin 20 years ago and began working
the land, while raising a family. Through the years
many visitors have commented enviably about our lifestyle.
We have had many requests from people wanting to help
us move our cattle down to our range, help with the
livestock, or just to spend time here fishing and relaxing.
So in response, we have built log cabins and a lodge
and look forward to meeting and making new friends as
we share a piece of this unique lifestyle.
The
Land: Our working cattle ranch and wilderness resort
is the only property situated on the shores of Tatelkuz
Lake, encompassing 750 acres of deeded land and 68,000
acres of rangeland complete with surrounding
forests and clearings crisscrossed with hiking, riding
and game trails. After a few minutes on horseback you
will realize that you truly are in BC's wilderness.
Accommodations: Each of our well-appointed
log cabins will sleep 6 and include full kitchens
and bathrooms with showers. Our hand built log home,
or main lodge, also has rooms available from single
to double occupancy. Cabin guests can bring their
own food and cook in their kitchen or they may prefer
the service in our dining room at the lodge. Room service
is available upon request. For those who prefer any
or all meals in our family atmosphere we offer wholesome
country cooking and lots of it. For cabin rates - click

The People: Your hosts are Barry
and Marion Mills and family. Marion is the manager
and (during off hours) can often be found in her art
studio painting. The children, ranging from late-teens
to mid-twenties, help with the stock chores and the
many fun activities here. They are outgoing and friendly
making the children of our guests feel welcome. Our
competent staff are helpful and courteous.
The Horses: Tennessee Walking
horses are considered the Cadillac of horses because
of their smooth glide-ride. Their natures are gentle
and quiet. We began using these horses years ago because
of the long distances we ride down-range to check
on the herd during summer grazing. Their smooth gait
and ability to walk at 10km+ per hour made them the
ideal trail horse. Any person can ride a 'Walker'
because he/she doesn't have to fight to maintain his/her
balance.
Our stallion is Major's Ultra Motion,
out of Ultra's Major Threat, a great grand-son of Triple
Threat and Midnight Sun, and a proven winner in shows
in western Canada and the States. We sell our fillies
because we cannot breed them back to the stallion so
give us a shout if you're looking to purchase one. We
will also consider trades for geldings. |
